StocKeeper 2003:
Share data for a more powerful and flexible workflow.
StocKeeper interfaces with several companion products to allow it to fit seamlessly into workflow. The companion products include DHI associations, Milk Meter Systems and software such as HeatWatch, Red Book and DairyComp305. If you do not see an interface that works for you, if you have a suggestion to add a new interface, or you have a product that you would like to interface with StocKeeper, please contact us and let us know.
RFID Tags New for '03
We're currently working on support for RFID tags with both our desktop and Palm OS software. If you would like more information on this, please contact us.
DHI Interfaces
DHIA (Dairy Herd Improvement Association) organizations provide testing services and maintain animal databases on member's herds. Production data can be imported directly into StocKeeper. From this data, StocKeeper can extract animal identification, test date, 24 hour milk weights, fat test, protein test and somatic cell counts. Calving, medical, heat, breeding and cull events must be manually entered directly into StocKeeper at the present time. Stay tuned for some more enhanced DHI interfaces.
The current DHI Associations StocKeeper interfaces with are:
- Wisconsin
- Provo
- Raleigh
- Michigan and Midstate
- Minnesota
- Canada
- South Africa (920 reports)
Milk Metering Systems
StocKeeper interfaces with most of the major milk metering systems including:
- Afimilk and AFI2000 (the latter for Italy)
- Alfa Laval/Alproiso
- Parlormanager/Surge
- Boumatic
Heat Watch
Heat Watch, produced by DDx Inc., is a heat detection system designed to passively record heat activity in cattle. This activity is stored in the software provided by Heat watch and this information can be imported into StocKeeper to automatically record Heat events for cows with activity. In addition, StocKeeper can export information to Heat watch's database about the transmitter numbers (StocKeeper uses the Transponder number for this value), ID numbers, days-in-milk, and pen or pasture number for each animal eligible for heat detection. Also, StocKeeper lists those animals who are confirmed pregnant or have been culled for deletion from the Heat watch database.
Red Book
Red Book refers to the database maintained by the Holstein Association USA, Inc. containing the pedigree information on all registered Holstein cattle in the US. To assist with the registration process for registered Holstein breeders, StocKeeper provides a standardized file containing all of the necessary information on eligible animals in the herd, including birth date, service date, ear tag number, barn name, the identity of their dams and sires. This export file can be sent to Red Book to register some or all of the animals identified in the file.
Other Livestock Management Software
If you are currently using DairyComp305 or DairyQuest, and would like
to start using StocKeeper, you can simply import your old data into StocKeeper
to save you considerable time. (And don't forget that we
offer competitive upgrades if you decide to switch programs!)
Acrobat PDF and Microsoft Excel
All reports can be saved as PDF files for easy printing or sending via email or the web. You can also export all reports as Microsoft Excel files to perform high-level data calculations outside of StocKeeper if you wish.
Build-your-own interface!
In addition to all of the above interfaces, you can also create your own with the built-in ASCII text formatter. This allows you to import data from a variety of sources that can send data as standard ASCII text. Contact us if you have any special requests!
